The account system on shibari.events
In the future we have big plans for accounts on shibari.events. At the moment, we rely on the community to submit data, which is good, but might also lead to misinformation. Here are the plans we are having in mind:
Personalize
Setup your profile with one or more locations (cities) and a radius and use the /me/ page, to only get events shown near your.
In addition, we will automatically notify you, once events are posted in your area, if enabled.
Manage events
You can manage your events easily, as events are now linked to your account. With an account you see all your last events and edit them afterwards. Editing an event will unpublish it afterwards, so you are not able to inject bad information, once it already has been published.
Trusted status
The trusted status (as indicated by on your account) will indicate, that we can trust you. For untrusted accounts, events can be edited, but will be taken offline afterwards. Trusted accounts can publish and edit events completely on their own.
This status is given by hand of us to somebody we know. Therefore, contact us on telegram (@shoga28) or send an email to trusted@shibari.events, with your account's email address and information on who you are and where we have met.
Trusted accounts can add cities to our website, as we are currently only listing major cities.
Protected identities
For each event, we need certain information, such as location, organizers or presenters. We are providing a text input field to make it easy to enter these information.
We value everyone who has given us the the permission to submit events. However, as we rely on anyone publishing these events and providing data, we want to make sure no one publishes misleading, wrong or harmful information.
Therefore, for two reaons, we are introducing identities:
- Data quality: For consistency of the data and to make it easier to find information from a single person, location or studio, we are introduction pre-defined identities.
- Protection: To protect your identity and give you control over what is published, we are protecting your identity.
How does it work?
If the name of a location, presenter or organizer is not registered as an identity, yet, users can submit events using these information. We will then just check these information and publish the event, as we already do.
Once you've registered an identity, we will verify your request and assign the identity to your account.
For any identity you own, being it a studio, location, presenter or brand, people will not be able to submit an event without you knowing. Names are automatically matched against all identities, and if matched, automatically linked to them. We will then notify you, to check and publish the event yourself, as ideally, no one else should publish events for your.
If the event was submitted by a trust account () the account is automatically published.
